Stephanie Dowd, Masters-Level Student

Stephanie obtained her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from LeTourneau University and is on track to graduate with a Master of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in May 2025.  She is completing practicum and internship under the supervision of Susan Stahlman, LPC-S.

Stephanie has a special interest in treating complex trauma, disordered eating, self-harm, and mood and attachment disorders. ​Stephanie has worked with bariatric surgeons and their patients since 2010 and has developed a deep compassion for the difficulties faced during the post-operative timeframe. She aims to offer holistic care to help individuals adjust to life changes, treat underlying mental health conditions, address physical changes, and provide support and early intervention.

Stephanie has been a certified crisis counselor with the suicide text line since 2020. Through this experience, she has been able to help others work through suicidal ideation, sexual abuse, unplanned pregnancy and post-partum depression, relationship trouble, panic and anxiety, depression, and a variety of other mental health concerns.

Stephanie uses a framework based on Adlerian therapy and Internal Family Systems to help clients by providing them with the tools and support they need to navigate emotional and psychological challenges. Depending on your needs, she may also use CBT or DBT.
